'To be or not to be'. How ego and thought relate.

The paradoxical riddle of beings, be-ings, and beans are the subject of this koan. Come on into ‘The Bar’ (metaphor for the ‘human experience’).

‘To be or not to be’ is a question only asked by crosseyed folks.

‘To be-ing or not to be-ing’ is the drunk narrative mirroring the intoxicated choices of existence and non-existence.

It’s better to start up chain smoking (again) than to fall for the false choices the thought-process provides on a daily basis.

A be-ing always has ego, and ego can never totally be removed by any process that uses thought.

Why?

The glowing ember of ego sure looks good when the soul’s hanging out intoxicated at the far end of the bar.

Because thought is a double shot, poured by the distinctions reflected by ego, and usually enhanced with each additional cocktail.
